In response to Michael Hanley’s letter in the Daily News (Opinion, Oct. 5), he knows five people wanting a Pullman Wal-Mart. I would like to add my name to his list.Dr. Hanly is a professor in the WSU Department of English along with PARDners TV Reed and Alex Hammond. It's not likely he does know many people who support Wal-Mart. Medieval literature experts who have taught at universities in Switzerland are not your typical Wal-Mart demographic.
Last spring, the Evergreen had a picture of a young woman signing a PARD petition on campus, with a sign underneath saying, One Wal-Mart is enough. I agree, and hope that Pullman may have one, as first planned, soon.

Unfortunately, for an English professor, Hanly seems to hold a dim view of free speech. At least the guy doesn't read Chaucer all the time. He apparently has read at least one comic book.
