Biggest Aircraft
Designed by World War I aviator Konstantin Kalinin with a wingspan greater than a B-52's and a much greater wing area, the K-7 was one of the biggest aircraft built before the jet age. It was only one engine short of the B-52 as well, having the curious arrangement of six pulling on the wing leading edge and one pushing at the rear. The K-7's very brief first flight showed up instability and serious vibration caused by the airframe resonating with the engine frequency. The solution to this 'flutter' was thought to be to shorten and strengthen the tail booms, little being known then about the natural frequencies of structures and their response to vibration. On the 11th flight, during a speed test, the port tailboom vibrated, fractured, jammed the elevator and caused the giant aircraft to plough into the ground, killing 15. Undaunted by this disaster, Kalinin's team began construction of two further K-7s in a new factory, but the vicissitudes of Stalin's Russia saw the project abandoned, and in 1938 the arrest and execution of Kalinin on trumped up espionage and sabotage charges. The Husband
R. is my husband. He is a very talented artist & designer. He also can be difficult & unyielding, but I have caused him some grief in our 30 years as a team.
We almost divorced in late 2007/early 2008. My choice, I realized, was not whether there was enough room in my life for this man, but whether I wanted to be patient enough & persistant enough to make our relationship work as a team.
We are doing much, much better now & we seem to be finding each other again. I have decided that too many couples are too quick to divorce. Being in a relationship is not a choice you make once & then forget, & maybe because as gay men who often don't have access to traditional rituals that symbolically "seal the deal", "fluidity" is much more of an option for us. It can be unnerving, but it also gives us more of a challange to rise to our better selves. It is a choice I make every day. If I am not choosing it every day, then I'm not really in it. Every day, I choose this house, these dogs, & this man.
We met in 1977. We were both working in the world of theatre. He was a set designer & occasional actor. He had been working in Belgium & had just moved back to the USA with his wife & young daughter.
We new each other for about two years before we became involved. We did a lot of theatre together during that time. On October 9 1979, we told each other that we were in love with each other. We celebrate that date as our anniversary. I felt unbelievable guilt for breaking up his marriage. I still do sometimes. Rolfe remains good friends with his ex-wife & we helped raise his daughter.
We were married on our 25th anniversary in Vancouver BC. Our very good friends Eiric & Ken were our best men. We had a party in Seattle , where we had lived for 20 years, that evening with about 60 friends & family.
He thinks that I am a rigid control freak. I think that he is often "remote".
I also think he is very handsome, an amazing talent, a champion of the underdog & he is admired by many people.
I still love him very much.
My First Post
I am a daily follower of several blogs, but never really thought I would do one of my own. But, 2009 is about doing things I have never done before. I started on January 1st by trading the sides of the bed that the husband & I sleep on, for the first time in 30 years...we both liked it better & I have very vivid & fantastical dreams now. Rumah ini terletak di Rawa Gelam Jatiwaringin Jakarta Timur, pemiliknya adalah bapak Wijanarko, sebelumnya beliau merasa ragu untuk menghubungi Team Bangun Rumah, karena dia Galeri Nasional di Rumah hanya menampilkan bangunan - bangunan besar. Tapi akhirnya pak Wijanarko menghubungi kami Team Bangun Rumah, pak Widi dan pak Aris pantai Rumah bapak Wijanarko, melihat lokasi dimana Rumah rencana akan atas, akhirnya pak Widi dan pak Aris mengukur lokasi, membuat sket tanah dan ukurannya - yang ukuran ada teknis. Dan akhirnya, setelah mendapatkan informasi tentang ukuran teknis dan kebutuhan ruang dan model bangunan dengan melihat dan isteri pak Wijanarko, Team Bangun Rumah dibuat desain tata ruang dan model bangunan, dan akhirnya setuju pada desain.
Bangunan saat ini adalah 100% dan karenanya diserah mentransfer ke pak Wijanarko, pelaksanaannya memakan waktu lebih dari 4 bulan, proses pembangunan berjalan lancar, dan keluarga pak Wijanarko juga puas dengan hasil yang telah disediakan, kegembiraan yang terpancar dari kami Tim nasional rumah, yang akhirnya dapat mewujudkan rumah berada dalam kesedihan - dikehendaki oleh bapak Wijanarko, kami seluruh tim sampai berdoa agar Rumah pak Wijanarko kerasan menempati rumah, rumah berkah, dan pak Wijanarko dan keluarga bertambah sukses, amien.
Walaupun bangunan tampak sederhana namun memiliki tata letak yang baik, pencahayaan dan penghawan dengan baik, dari segi estetika juga tidak kalah dengan bangunan - di sekitar gedung, "tetapi bahkan Gunakan Arsitek Rumah Kecil"

10 Tips to Improve Your Speaking Voice
One of the most important components of public speaking is the sound of your voice. It influences the impact of your message, and might even make or break the success of your speech. Fortunately, for many people, good voice quality can be learned.Instructions :Breathe from your diaphragm - Practice long and controlled exhales. When you speak, use breath to punctuate your point. For example, take a breath at the end of each phrase whether you need to or not. Use that opportunity to pause and let the listeners absorb what you say.
- Use pitch - Lower pitches generally are more soothing to hear. However, modulating your pitch for emphasis will keep your listeners engaged. Develop your pitch by practicing humming.
- Moderate your volume - Find out if you speak too loudly or too softly. When you begin speaking, ask your audience how your volume is (each situation is different). Try to stay at the appropriate volume throughout your speech.
- Moderate your pace - This one is also closely related to breath. If you speak too quickly, people can’t keep up. If you speak too slowly, people will lose interest. Record your speech to determine if you need to change your pace. Get feedback from others.
- Articulate - Try exaggerating your lip movement to reduce mumbling. Practice articulating tongue twisters and extending and exaggerating vowel sounds. Become an expert at articulating tongue twisters as quickly and crisply as possible. Focus on the ones you find difficult.
- Practice your speech in advance and determine where you want to pause for a breath. For more emphasis, pause for more than one breath. Mark your breathing points in your notes.
- Loosen up before you begin. Look side to side. Roll your head in half-circles and roll your shoulders back. Shift your rib cage from side to side. Yawn. Stretch. Touch your toes while completely relaxing your upper body, then slowly stand up, one vertebra at a time, raising your head last. Repeat as needed.
- Posture - Stand up straight and tall to allow full lung capacity and airflow.
- Record your voice repeatedly using different ways of speaking. Determine which one is most pleasing.
- Practice breath control - Take a deep breath, and while you exhale, count to 10 (or recite the months or days of the week). Try gradually increasing your volume as you count, using your abdominal muscles—not your throat—for volume. Don’t let your larynx tense up.
