7 Ways to Make a Good Impression
Impressions are important: They leave an initial taste in people's mouths that can remain prevalent for the entire relationship. If you are paranoid about what kind of impression you make, run through these seven list items and see if you are consistent with them; if you are, then you will probably expose the best of yourself. If not, then work to meet these standards.1. Dress: The absolute first impression you will make on someone will be through your clothing, because that is what is seen from a distance, and cannot change throughout your meeting. Make sure to dress according to the situation-don't over or under dress-and maintain within the limits of good taste. If you aren't sure if what you're wearing looks good, ask people for an honest opinion. One last thought: always, and I mean always, pull up your pants.
2. Hygiene: Take a shower! Shave! Brush your teeth! You must be fully bathed and groomed before you meet with someone for the first time, because scruffy looking people generally don't seem as neat and mature. Pay attention to the little elements like breath: keep a pack of mint gum with you wherever you go, and periodically check to make sure you aren't killing bugs every time you breathe out. If you sweat heavily, keep a small stick of deodorant/anti-perspirant close, and if you notice you're stinking you can freshen up. People notice the minutiae!
3. Manners: At the table and with other people be civilized, polite and respectful: keep your elbows off of the table, open doors for people and address everyone-initially, at least-by their formal title. This will make an especially good impression on senior citizens, because you will prove that you aren't one of those "new fangled punks."
4. Speech: Have clean, clear diction and speak sans "like" or "you know." It is important to be articulate because that inspires a feeling of intelligence and education in the person you are meeting with. Always leave out profanity, and whatever you do, make sure to speak loud enough for all to hear, because conversationalists are easily agitated if you force them say "excuse me?" more than a few times.
5. Discretion: Choose what to share about yourself: forget to tell everyone about that time you went camping and ruptured your appendix, then fell face first into a pile of bug infested leaves-it is rude and will alienate you from the group. Try to withhold from conversations on personal subjects like religion or more disgusting topics like personal medical care. Before you speak, think about the possible impact of what you might say, then imagine its implications in the long run.
6. Humor: Humor can be your most powerful tool or your doom, because everyone has a slightly different sense of humor. What might be hilarious to you might seem disgusting to another, or vice versa. Try to withhold from any jokes that aren't family or dinner table friendly; you can tell those later.
7. Start and End with a Bang: I am a classical musician, and in my orchestra, among other messages, the conductor tells us that the "audience remembers mostly the first and last notes of a symphony." This is the same in a personal encounter: whoever you are meeting with will remember how you greet them, and then in what manner you left them. If you feel you have trouble with this, practice a few different phrases in the mirror, and introduce elements like: "pleased to meet you," or "honored to make your acquaintance." Ignore the antiquity of these phrases; it often makes them more memorable.
Making a good impression will set any relationship off on a good foot. If you are in a situation where you need to be judged at face value-such as a job interview or date-then make sure to go through this list and make sure you are within bounds of reason and good taste on all of your decisions.

Southern Classic Design Process & Philosophy
Proper home design should be about the balanced matrimonial site, shape, function, durability and price. The right combination of these factors are crucial in the planning of a large home.
Site
A home site has many inherent properties such as size, shape, topography, views, orientation, and drainage applications - as well as the location of surrounding houses and trees. Each of these may limit or enhance a design and should be considered early in the planning process. Although we can not control the characteristics of a site, we certainly can give the home plans to maximize its use and enjoyment. Home sites are static - designs are infinite.
Shape
Form of a home, or what it looks and feels like the inside and out is extremely important to most homeowners. This is what makes us "feel good home" and have a great impact on our sense of style. Form or a home begins with its overall massing and space planning and ending with the smallest detail and decoration. The goal is to capture the essence of the owner's style using classic design features. This allows the home to remain fresh and elegant, while aging gracefully.
Our plans are much more than conceptual renderings. Every aspect is drawn to scale and fully dimensioned. Profiles and information are level-specific and is equipped to ensure that the desired appearance and proportion, inside and out, will actually be achieved. We are proud not only in our design, but also the quality of our plans.
Feature
The function of a home or how it should be used is perhaps the most important design factor, but is often overshadowed by other factors such as style or cost. Prolonged use and daily livability should be considered. A long-term home should be able to support the changing needs of the baby to have children all the way through the empty services phase. It may be necessary to bring the optimal design for a phase in order to strengthen the livability another. This may involve decisions on the location of the master suite, the availability of playroom or functions needed for a future pool. Whatever the long-term needs, the design of the home should also improve their daily life.
All of our designs, both large and small, function properly bedroom separation, larger hallways, wider door openings and kitchen work. Indeed, all our designs feature more generous "minimum size" throughout. Closet doors, windows, bedroom items, and the door swing areas are designed to allow optimal furniture placement and turnover. All our presentation drawings include furniture layouts to scale and to illustrate how a particular place, may be used. Whether you are looking for a starter measures home, a family home, a vacation home or an empty home services, questions about the functioning and livability should be weighted heavily in the planning process.
Durability
The shelf life of a home often determines whether we will spend our leisure time and enjoy the resources or maintenance. It starts with a proper structural design to maximize stability and give the impression of a "permanent home". Homes designed and built for longevity may cost a little more up front but are much cheaper in the long run. More durable homes cheaper to maintain and also have higher resale values. Even questions about the durability and livability are usually strengthened simultaneously. The most loved and wanted back, like everything else, tend to be those that require less maintenance. Our homes are designed to stand the test of time both physically and aesthetically.
Costs
The cost of a home affected by all these design factors. It is certainly more economical to build on a flat dry place than on a steep or wet site. The style and features of a home, the materials used and the effectiveness of the design will also have a major impact on the total cost. As you can see, we love to design houses, small and big, with plenty of Porches and garages, classic detail and gracious interior dimensions. We also wish to use the tried and true materials and we do not skimp on structural elements such as foundations and framing. Efficiency and value of our plans are not made by simply delete functions ... it is created by offering these features in a true economic and buildable format. Because the costs will affect all decisions in the design and construction, it is important to understand how specific elements actually affect the cost and to adopt a realistic budget early in the planning stage.
Balance
Determining the right balance of these factors as they relate to your individual needs will have a major impact on livability value and enjoyment of your home. Choosing a quality design with an excellent set of plans is key to building a great home!

The installation 'bios [bible]' consists of an industrial robot, which writes down the bible on rolls of paper. The machine draws the calligraphic lines with high precision. Like a monk in the scriptorium it creates step by step the text.Starting with the old testament and the books of Moses ‘bios [bible]’ produces within seven month continuously the whole book. All 66 books of the bible are written on rolls and then retained and presented in the library of the installation.‘bios [bible]’ is focussing on the questions of faith and technical progress. The installation correlates two cultural systems which are fundamental for societies today – religion and scientific rationalism. In this contexts scripture has all times an elementary function, as holy scripture or as formal writing of knowledge.In computer technology 'basic input output system' (bios) designates the module which basicaly coordinates the interchange between hard- and software. Fighter Motorcycle at Neiman Marcus
Maybe I have 007 on the brain because of the new Quantum of Solace movie but this Limited Edition Fighter Motorcycle certainly strikes me as something Bond-worthy (I'm sure the photo above has something to do with that impression too). The raw, bare-bones design in nothing but silver steel and black rubber makes for a minimalistic but still "bad ass" look, which the bike backs up with an exciting array of high-tech features and the ability to fly down the highway at speeds up to 190mph.
