Born On This Day- March 4th-... Crazy Canadian Catherine O'Hara

Do you love her like I love her? In the very early 1980s, when the Husband & I were puppies & only a year into our relationship, we discovered SCTV & we were egocentric enough to think that the Canadians had made a television series just for us. We watched it every Friday night at midnight & cried with laughter. This was before T-VOE, DVR, or even VCRs. We watched on a TV with an antenna replete with aluminum foil between the rabbit ears.

Oh, we loved, loved, loved Catherine O’Hara on that show. Little did we know that she would save her very best stuff for the Christopher Guest mockumentaries- Waiting For Guffman, Best Of Breed, A Might Wind & For Your Consideration (for which she was robbed of an Oscar nomintation). Remember her freightning , yet funny turn on Six Feet Under? She is beautiful, fabulously talented & totally demented. She deserves her cult status as one of the truly great comic actors. She has a condition known as Situs Inversus with Dextrocardia meaning  her heart is on the right side of her body. My heart thumps for her on her birthday, & I am proud that we are the same age & we both look fabulous.
