Governor Mike Huckabee has won the Iowa Presidential caucuses with 34% of the vote. Huckabee's biggest support came from women and evangelical Christians. Mitt Romney did the worst among those groups. Despite efforts by the Club for Growth, conservative leader Richard Viguerie, and others to paint Huckabee as a "Republican socialist," 35% of Iowa Republicans who described themselves as "very conservative" voted for Huckabee.
Totally unbelievable, considering Huckabee was only polling 1 or 2% a few months back and with only a fraction of the money and organization of the well-oiled Romney machine. No matter what happens from here on out, Huckabee has become a major player in the GOP.
Now it's on to New Hampshire and victory!
